A printed book version of the in-depth version of the research (minimum 20-pages), designed as something people can pick up, keep and share.

This works well for hotels, venues, workplaces, residential developments, cultural spaces, anniversaries, launches, open days or client gifts. The booklet can bring together the written story, historic maps, archive photographs, captions and modern context in a more polished, physical format.

Books are usually based on an existing Research Pack, with design, layout and print costs priced separately depending on page count, paper choice and quantity.

Specification

Our hardback book option is a premium casebound hardback edition, designed for clients who want something more substantial, permanent and giftable. It works particularly well as a reception copy, boardroom piece, client gift, presentation item, or a higher-end version of the completed place-history research.

Standard hardback specification:

  • Size: A5 portrait

  • Binding: Casebound hardback

  • Print: Full colour, double-sided inner pages

  • Cover: Printed hardback cover with matt lamination

  • Cover paper/spec: 200gsm silk cover as standard

  • Inner pages: 170gsm uncoated paper

  • Endpapers: Blank endpapers included as standard

  • Page count: Typically based on a 32-page layout, subject to final content

  • Minimum quantity: Typically 20 copies

  • Finish: Premium book-style presentation with a durable hard cover

  • Turnaround: Please allow approximately 15 working days from final artwork approval

This allows time to adapt the research into a book layout, check the artwork, confirm the spine width, arrange print production and allow for delivery.

Other sizes, paper stocks, page counts, finishes and quantities can be quoted separately if required. The attached supplier spec confirms casebound hardback printing, paper stock options, 32–400 page capacity, blank endpapers as standard, and the A5 portrait build option with matt laminated cover and 170gsm uncoated inner pages.
